Anthropologie Jeans vs. DIY Jeans?

Turn a pair of jeans into $200 Anthropologie Patchwork Jeans with this easy DIY Hack!
(“FULL VIDEO TUTORIAL” Below.)

Find a pair of jeans and transform them in under 15 minutes.

There is ‘NO SEWING” for this Anthropologie thrift flip.

I’m all about “No sew” projects and “EASY” DIY Projects!

This DIY does both.

All you need for this project is an old pair of jeans, scrap fabrics, and fabric glue.

I have a “Video Tutorial” HERE for your Anthropologie Dupe if you like to watch videos.

Who has a box of scrap fabric?

I feel like most of us have a box like this waiting for the perfect DIY project to come along.

If you don’t have scraps you can get some swatches here.

For this project I actually used scraps from my son’s studio. He’s a couture clothing designer and makes his clothing line from vintage textiles. I’m a proud Mama!!!

I’m guilty of collecting jeans.

I literally have a pair from high school. Any of you like me? …A jean hoarder, LOL!

I love these Anthropologie Jeans, but not for the $198 price tag.

I knew I could recreate them so easily with a thrift flip.

After you collecting a bunch of scraps it’s time to cut them up into squares and rectangles.

First, I grabbed my scraps and started cutting different shapes.

Don’t worry about making your squares and rectangle fabric pieces perfect.

You actually want them to be imperfect.

After you have a bunch of fabric shapes cut out place them on the front of your jeans in different areas.

You’re going to layer your fabric on top of each other like a collage.

Don’t stress over your patch placement because I promise you will be rearranging.

Once you have an idea of where you think you want your patches to go it’s time to started gluing them down with fabric glue.

You can totally sew these down if you want. But, this glue is awesome and is permanent.

Start by adding fabric glue on the back of your first piece.

Be sure to add your glue as close to the outer edge as possible and throughout the entire piece so you have nice coverage.

Then keep layering pieces, big & small, overlapping, and having fun.

DESIGN TIP:

Use your fabric swatches sparingly. You don’t want to cover your entire pair of jeans with fabric.
You want to place them in little clusters. Try not to make things “Matchy Matchy” in your placement positions.
You’ll notice I have only one knee patch.

Look how cute these turned out!

They literally look like a pair of Anthropologie jeans.
