This is literally a “FALL” sign!!! All you need for this DIY is a little paint and a wood base.
Let’s start making your Fall Sign DIY!
Start by grabbing a rectangle piece of wood to make your Fall Sign. I used an all wood frame to make this one. You can really use any type of wood. I have a link to the kind I used, linked below.
Next, paint the wood with a coat of white paint. I put two coats on mine.
…Is it showing signs of Autumn in your town? I’m literally next to my pool in a tank top and shorts making my Fall Sign…LOL!
San Diego isn’t ready for Fall yet. But, I’m so ready for the weather to change and to put on my favorite cozy sweater.
Now it’s time to paint the word “FALL” on your wood sign.
I freehanded the word “FALL” with a light orange acrylic paint and a small tipped paintbrush.
You can use any word or words… …Autumn would be great on your sign.
You may need to go over your word if you want it to be a little darker and thicker.
I went over a few parts on mine. But, my goal is never to make things look perfect and symmetrical. I like things to be a little more whimsical looking.
I ended up painting the outer edge with a pale pink.
And then I added some random stripes of a plum color all along the edge.
You’ll notice that I didn’t really use a traditional Fall palette. My vibe is very beachy so I choose my own pallette.
