I have at least one Fiddle Fig in every room of my home.
Some are super small and some are so tall they hit the ceiling.
3. Place your tree in a stylish pot.
Fiddle leaf fig trees look great in modern pots. Choose a pot that’s twice the size of the tree’s root ball. This part is my favorite! I love to add a pot or basket that fits the style of my room.

Fiddle leaf fig trees can also be used to decorate your outdoor space. If you have a porch or patio, then a fiddle leaf fig tree is the perfect way to add some greenery. These trees are also great for balcony gardens.
My favorite fiddle leaf fig tree is the one on my front porch in a white egg-shaped ceramic pot.
Yes, she’s outside and she is so happy there.
I live in San Diego so the weather is never too extreme.
I brought her home a few years ago. She’s beautiful and thriving!!!

Fiddle leaf fig trees look great when placed in front of windows. They can help to filter the light and add some privacy to your space. Plus, they’re a great way to bring the outdoors inside. One of the added benefits of having plants in your home is that they help purify the air.
Fiddle leaf fig trees are especially good at this, so if you’re looking for a way to improve the air quality in your home, then these trees are a great option.

Quick Tips to Care for your Fiddle Fig Tree
1. Choose the right spot.
Fiddle leaf fig trees like bright, indirect light. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight, as this can
scorch the leaves. This happened to one of my Fiddle Leaf Figs
2. Water your tree regularly.
Fiddle leaf fig trees like to be kept moist, but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil is dry.
This is the key to a happy plant!
3. Wipe the leaves down with a damp cloth to remove dust.
Simply wipe the leaves down with a damp cloth every week or so to remove dust.
I use microfiber cloth gloves. It makes it a lot easier to dust your leaves this way. To keep the leaves healthy and shiny I use Plant Leaf Armor. This is literally a game changer. One of my Fiddle Figs wasn’t looking so good. This plant spray definitely helped.
4. Fertilize your tree.
Fiddle leaf fig trees need to be fertilized every six weeks during the growing season. Use a fertilizer specially formulated for fig trees.
5. Prune your tree and give your tree a new lease on life.
When your fiddle leaf fig tree starts to look sad or is tilted to one side, you can rejuvenate it by pruning it back.
This will promote new growth and give your tree a new lease on life. Fiddle leaf fig trees need to be pruned regularly to promote new growth. Prune in the spring and early summer. If you see a leaf that’s turning yellow, prune it off.
6. Repot your tree.
Fiddle figs need to be repotted every two to three years. Use a pot that is slightly larger than the previous one. When you notice that your roots are exposed that’s a sign to re-pot and add more soil. I’m ready to re-pot two of my fiddle figs in the next few weeks. They are way overdue.
7. Protect your tree from pests.
Fiddle leaf trees are susceptible to mealybugs, spider mites, and scale insects. Inspect your tree regularly and treat infestations promptly. If you’re not sure what to use, I use this natural peppermint bug spray.
I hope my tips for decorating with Fiddle Leaf Fig Trees were helpful.
I’m not a plant expert, but I’ve had Fiddle Fig Trees in my home for more than 10 years. In fact, one of my trees is 8 years old. So, let me know if you have any questions.
Have an awesome day!
